2021: A Year of Growth, Opportunity, and Big Goals Ahead
Well, here we are again...we blinked, and somehow another year is coming to an end. Doesn’t it feel like that sometimes? But in the grand scheme of things, A LOT has happened over the past 12 months. From getting to work on special projects, incredible opportunities, and having our work shared across the globe... it’s been a wild and fantastic journey here at Susie Novak Interiors.
This year, I’m so proud to share that we’ve been featured in so many outstanding publications worldwide. Architectural Digest (in USA, Italy, and Spain!), RueMag.com, ElleDecorSpain, and Archello are some of the features we have had this year. It’s been a dream come true! Having our work shared far and wide has allowed us to inspire others while showing who we are as a design firm, and in my opinion, not much can top that. Except for maybe one thing…
Growing our team! I’ve always enjoyed working collaboratively, and now I can share in the joy of design alongside my incredible new team members! Not only is this a huge accomplishment for our firm, but it also allows us to provide a much higher level of service to you...our fabulous clients. :)

Meet the Susie Novak Interiors Team
Responsibilities: Lead Designer, Curator, Stylist, Business Development
“With a background of living in cities for the majority of my life, the urban landscape is where I gain most of my inspiration. The diversity, the energy, the grit, and of course, the creativity are all elements that fuel my design process daily. Being in a place where you have opportunities to meld old homes with new style is both exciting and inspiring!”
Responsibilities: Design, Styling, Project Management
“Being the daughter of a Japanese-American and a Greek immigrant, I am constantly inspired by a multitude of cultures. My heritage, combined with growing up in a culturally diverse city like San Francisco, has had a major influence on my design style. Whenever possible, I love integrating a modern aesthetic with reference to cultural themes.”

“Cultural heritage is important to me, and I appreciate unique design that is able to retain original character while still modernizing a space. Seeing the layers of time all at once is magical. With the history involved, no project is the same, which is super exciting. It provides a perfect opportunity to explore interior design history while creating something entirely new.”
Responsibilities: Assist Designers, Manage Materials Library, Creation of Branded New Client Materials
“Growing up in Hood River, Oregon has instilled a love for embracing and cherishing the natural environment. As an aspiring architect and current student at California College of the Arts, I’ve become inspired by the possibilities of renovation, restoration, and adaptive reuse. With my roots of being environmentally conscious, I hope to accomplish insightful and caring forethought that allows current and future generations to dwell sustainably and creatively!”
Going Forward...
Along with growth comes change and opportunity, and I’m thrilled to share that WE’VE MOVED! We are now located on a beautiful, historic street full of bookstores, cafes, and restaurants. Trust me, it’s as dreamy as it sounds. Our street runs through Oakland and Berkeley and is well-loved by tourists and locals alike.
We couldn’t be happier to be a part of this community, and it has been the perfect fit for our growing team!
Our new by-appointment showroom carries a few of my absolute favorite custom lines and displays accessories and art that we use to style our homes. After all, it’s always better to see things in person versus the internet, right? The tactile and in-person experience helps give you a better perspective on the endless possibilities we can provide.
Since this year has been such a huge year for growth, we are moving forward into 2022 with strong momentum. It’s always been a dream to have a space to showcase some of our amazing finds from our sourcing trips and one of a kind pieces by artists and artisans. With our new location, we can! We will officially launch in the spring of 2022 and will be open by appointment. Doesn’t that sound amazing?!
As I look back on all of the inspiring clients, beautiful projects, and big goals that we’ve accomplished over the last 12 months, I can’t help but feel proud and extra thankful. I am excited for all of the possibilities that await as we continue on this journey of transforming lives one home at a time, and I’m delighted to have you along for the ride.
